FACILITIES PROVIDED TO THE STUDENTS OF BENEFICIARY STATES
A) HOSTEL FACILITIES:
Institute has provided Hostel facilities to the deserving students in and outside the Institute Campus. There are four Hostels (two each for Boys and Girls). Three Hostels are located in the Campus while one Girls’ Hostel is located in the vicinity of Aizawl Civil Hospital of the Capital. Hostellers strength in each Hostel is shown below :-

Considering the demand for Hostel accommodation, there
is a proposal for construction of two more additional Hostels (Boys’ &
Girls’) during the 11th Five year Plan of the Institute and the proposal
has been incorporated in EPF memo for consideration and approval of the
Ministry.
Preference for admission in Hostels:-
First preference is given to those students in Hostel admission who come
from outside the State as nominee of beneficiary States of North Eastern
Region. After accommodating all the outside students who seek admission in
Hostel next preference goes to the local students of the State of Mizoram
provided seats are available in the Hostel after accommodating outside
students.
Management of Hostels:-
In each Hostel there is a Warden who is responsible for smooth management
of respective Hostel. Above Wardens there is a Hostel Superintendent for
both Boys’ and Girls’ who are responsible for over all supervision of
Hostels. Hostels mess is managed/run by respective Hostel Mess Committee
selected from the Hostellers on rotation basis.
Hostel Advisory Committee:-
To keep vigilance over
the activities of Hostellers of different Hostels, there is a Hostel
Advisory Committee constituted under the Chairmanship of one Senior
Faculty Member and all the Hostel Superintendents and Wardens are members
of the Committee. Because of the strict implementation of Hostels Rules
and Regulations by the Hostel Advisory Committee there is not a single
incident of ragging/torture reported in the Hostels, since establishment
and Hostellers irrespective of caste, creed and religion are maintaining
good relation and integrity amongst themselves.
B) Other facilities available in the Campus:
1. Library: The Institute of RIPANS possesses a well-equipped and spacious library which provides books, journals and dictionaries related to the profession of Pharmacy. In addition to this, various daily national newspaper are also provided.
2. Computer Facilities: The Institute also provides a well-equipped centrally located Computer Centre which the students can avail and acquaint themselves with the basic and necessary knowledge of the subject. Internet facilities are also provided in the Computer Centre for which students and staff can access during working hours.
3. Canteen: To provide other facilities Staff Welfare Association of the Institute is running a Canteen where students and officials can have their refreshment even dinner and lunch at a concession prices. For convenient of the Hostellers and resident of staff quarters, a Grocery cum Stationer Canteen is opened and handed over to Private Party on annual contract basis. Canteen (Grocery cum Stationery) items are available at local market rates. In addition to these facilities, there is a PCO in the Complex managed by a Private Party for the convenient of the Hostellers and day scholars.
4. Transportation: Bus services are made available to the students and staff residing outside the Campus that ply from Aizawl to the Institute Campus and Vice-Versa. The service is available at the morning and afternoon hours and scheduled as per the class hours.
5. Play Ground: A sizeable playground for football, volleyball and basketball is available within the Campus itself.
