Pharmacy ADMISSION REQUIREMENT FOR B. PHARMACY COURSE 1. The minimum qualification for admission to 1st Year Bachelor of Pharmacy Course shall be the passing of 10+2 examination or any other equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics or Biology conducted by any Board/Council recognized by AICTE/PCI. 2. Minimum qualification for direct admission to second year of B.Pharm shall be first division in Diploma-in-Pharmacy from any Institution approved by the Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) Brief report 1. Industrial Training: To enhance the practical knowledge and activities of the Industrial unit, Final year Bachelor of Pharmacy students are deputed to different pharmaceutical industrial belt for a period of one month. These factories also help the students to expose themselves in the production and management of pharmaceutical industries. 2. Field Trip: Every year Pharmacy students accompanied by faculty member are send to different interior places for collection of various samples of medicinal plans for laboratory testing. 3. Research Project under ISM: With the Financial Assistance of North Eastern Council, Shillong under Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DoNER) Govt. of India, the Institute has taken up the following project works under Indian System of Medicines and completed. Enabling Green Gardens (Therapeutic Garden) The foundation stone of the Project “Enabling Green Gardens” (Therapeutic) was laid by the then His Excellency the Governor of Mizoram Shri. A.R. Kohli on 10th February, 2006 in the RIPANS Complex. The project works was entrusted to Mission Matrix Maveen, Jagdish Prasad Saxena Memorial Society a New Delhi based consultancy firm and completed recently. The Enabling Greens garden after completion has inaugurated by – on dt.___ and expected to open for public within a short period. This is the first kind of Therapeutic Garden in the North East States : Important features “Enabling greens stand the commitment of functional fitness to the people who are at disadvantage on performing activities of daily living, in a most relaxed and habit forming way. This will go manifold to advocate that acquiring physical, mental, psychological, spiritual and religious growth is an essential part of human development and ecstasy.” Research Laboratory in Pharmacy deptt. of the Institute.
Institute has developed a Research
Laboratory in Pharmacy department by purchasing the required equipments and
appratus. The main object of Research Laboratory is to undertake research
study and analysis of medicinal plants locally available. Under this
project, the following areas of investigation are covered:- Research works are carried out on regular basis on selected plants and processed. Isolation and purification of chemical constituents and its anti-diabetic propertics of Mallotus roxburghianus have been completed and sent to International Research Journal for publication. Also the phytochemical and pharmacological screening of Stephania glandulifera for its antimicrobial activities, Melothria umbellata, Thum-bergia grandiflora, Cissus discolor and Plumetia acumina for its analgesic and anti-inflamatory activities are under process. At the same time antiulcer drugs screcning is taken simullaneously. TEACHING FACULTY
